Beth Tovey
Lecturer in English Language and Literature
Magdalen College
Oxford
OX1 4AU

Having completed my DPhil in Old English literature in 2009, I am now working as a College Lecturer for Magdalen and Corpus Christi Colleges, Oxford. My teaching subjects include Old and Middle English, and the history and theory of the English language.
My recent research has focused on the representation of disability in Medieval English literature, and an article entitled 'Kingly impairments in Anglo-Saxon literature: God's curse and God's blessing' will soon be published in Disability in the Middle Ages ed. Joshua Eyler (Ashgate: 2010). My research interests also cover other aspects of physicality in Old English literature, and I am currently looking at the presentation of hair in Anglo-Saxon literature and art.
